Francesca Streelman
Photographer, wife, mother, and teacher in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
Francesca Streelman is a photographer in Berrien Springs, Michigan, making portraits for seniors, families, and the people they love.
She has three grown children — all now flown the nest (but don't call her old!). She and her husband, Ric, have hosted over a dozen exchange students from around the world over the years and remain close with a wider extended family. Both are deeply active in the community.
Over her years in Berrien Springs, she has helped save acres of wetlands, worked to make the public schools a better place, and documented the Berrien County Youth Fair countless times for the local press.
She's also fought — and won — against cancer, with a smile and a scarf.
A teacher through and through, she's always sharpening her lenscraft, traveling nationally and internationally to study with the photographers she most admires.
Sessions are unrushed by design. She gives families the time they need to settle in, and seniors the space to be themselves — and brings the same care to every frame as if she were photographing her own kids.
Her work has appeared in local press, including The Journal Era. She also makes personal photographs — flowers, birds, and the small things that ask to be looked at twice — and often fires up her kiln at home for glasswork.
